Google Pixel 6a

Comparing Google Pixel 7 with Pixel is somehow irrelevant but this comparison is for Google users who are confused about which one to go for; that means whether to save cost or to go for the one over the odd.

In this article, we will compare these devices side by side in terms of Performance, Design, Display, Battery, Cellular Network, Camera Resolution, Price, and some other features available which will make it easier for you to make your decision.

Design

A smartphone's design and build quality are important factors in influencing its appeal. The Google Pixel 6a has a 6.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080.

This device is lightweight and easy to use because of its plastic back and metal frame. It sports a centered punch-hole camera and minimal bezels, giving it a contemporary appearance. The device is 156.2 x 73.2 x 8.8 mm in size and weighs 183 g.

The Google Pixel 7, on the other hand, has a 6.4-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. When compared to the Pixel 6a, the device has a glass back and an aluminum frame, making it more premium.

The device has a punch-hole camera and smaller bezels than its predecessor. The device's exact size and weight have yet to be determined.

Google Pixel 7 (based on specs) is the winner.

Display

The device features a refresh rate of 90Hz, which allows for smooth scrolling. The display is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which provides some protection against scratches and accidental drops.

The Google Pixel 7 has a 6.4-inch OLED display with a 2400 x 1080 resolution. This device has a refresh rate of 120Hz, which gives an even better scrolling experience. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus is likely to safeguard the display, providing greater protection than the Pixel 6a.

Google Pixel 7 (based on specs) is the winner.

Performance and Hardware

The Google Pixel 6a is powered by a Google Tensor CPU, which is powerful enough to perform everyday chores and modest gaming.

The smartphone includes 6GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable internal storage. The device ships with Android 12 and is assured to receive upgrades for at least three years.

The Google Pixel 7 will be equipped with a Google Tensor Gen 2 processor, which will be more powerful than the Pixel 6a.

The device comes with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage that can be expanded with a microSD card. The device ships with Android 12 and will receive upgrades for at least three years.

Google Pixel 7 (based on specs) is the winner.

Camera

One of the most notable characteristics of the Google Pixel series is the camera. The Google Pixel 6a features a dual-camera configuration with a 50MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor.

Because of powerful image processing algorithms and software optimizations, the device can take high-quality photographs and movies. In addition, the device boasts an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats.

The Google Pixel 7 has three cameras: a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 48MP telephoto sensor.

The camera on the smartphone has sophisticated capabilities like optical zoom and better low-light performance. The front-facing camera is a 12MP sensor for better selfies and video calling.

Google Pixel 7 (based on specs) is the winner.

Battery Life and Charging

Battery life and charging speed are important components of a smartphone since users frequently rely on them throughout the day. The Google Pixel 6a has a 4600mAh battery that can last a whole day on a single charge.

The smartphone enables rapid charging up to 30W, allowing for a speedy charge when needed. It also has 12W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging capabilities.

The Google Pixel 7 has a somewhat smaller 4500mAh battery, but because of the greater power efficiency of the Google Tensor Gen 2 CPU, it has longer battery life.

The device may charge at speeds of up to 65W, which should be a big boost over the Pixel 6a. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are also enabled.

Google Pixel 7 (based on specs) is the winner.

Price and Availability

The Google Pixel 6a costs $449 and it's available for pre-order in the United States since June 30th, 2022.

The Google Pixel 7 is more expensive than its predecessor, with a starting price of roughly $699. The smartphone will be unveiled in October 2022 and will be available for pre-order soon after.

Google Pixel 6a (based on confirmed pricing and availability) is the winner.

Conclusion

Both the Google Pixel 6a and the Google Pixel 7 are outstanding smartphones with distinct features and characteristics.

While the Pixel 6a is less expensive and provides a solid overall experience, the Pixel 7 improves significantly in performance, display, camera, and battery life. If budget is a significant concern, the Pixel 6a is a fantastic pick.

However, if you want the most up-to-date technology, the Pixel 7 is worth the wait and the higher price.
